[Warning: The below contains major spoilers for the Grey’s Anatomy Season 19, Episode 4, “Haunted.”]
October 27 episode of Grey’s Anatomy Titled “Haunted,” the only scary thing about Episode 4 of Season 19 is that it almost never happens. increase.
That said, Bailey’s (Chandra Wilson) Princess Leia costume was reason enough for a Halloween-themed episode.
The “ghost” figure in this episode is Griffith (Alexis Floyd). At the start of the episode, the other interns watch and watch again a viral video of a doctor throwing a tantrum and destroying a hospital room. That doctor was Griffith, after all. And after she scrubs her body with Maggie (Kelly McCreary) in surgery, Griffith explains everything…
In the scrub room, Maggie asks Griffith why he was kicked out of the last intern program. Griffith says she was expelled for being too “aggressive,” but in fact she was calling out the racism that was rampant at the hospital. Griffith was understandably angry. And now, surveillance footage of the incident has leaked online and gone viral. But Maggie tells Griffith that he’s a great doctor who belongs to a great surgical program like Gray Sloan. “Please don’t bother me any more.”
And at the end of the episode, Griffith goes wild and tells the other interns that she’s the one in the video. they empathize. I tell her they would be furious too.
Speaking of other interns, they’re called into Skill Lab for trauma at the start of the episode. (Hey, Richard was trying to use a jack-o-lantern to improve the precision of his surgery.)
However, the “trauma” turns out to be a corpse with knife wounds. Owen (Kevin McKidd), Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Nick (Scott Speedman) and Winston (Anthony Hill) learn that with the rise of laparoscopic surgery, surgeon interns have not been exposed enough to major scars. explains. That’s why attendees have Gray Sloan’s new intern class practicing trauma skills on corpses donated to science.
The interns fail to prevent the death of the first Corpse (again), but with some tough love from Owen and Winston, they band together as a team to save the life of the second Corpse. Adams (Niko Teruho) as the student, but Adams asks if all the interns can participate in the grand prize surgery. After all, they are now a team.
Speaking of Owen and Winston, they bond over the frustrations of working for their respective spouses. Owen asks if Winston still loves Maggie. Owen tells him to protect that love before a grudge takes over. I will tell you.
Speaking of Owen, we get an insight into the tension in his relationship with Teddy (Kim Raver). Teddy is bonding with Link (Chris Carmack) during her coffee break at the ambulance. When Link says he’s crazy about Joe (Camilla Ludington) (more on that later), Teddy advises him to be with another woman to protect his platonic relationship with Joe. “You’re not going to ruin each other’s lives to ruin your friendship,” she says.
Still, Teddy still seems sweet to her husband. She found Owen sleeping in the on-call room and woke him up to remind him of sweet memories. While Teddy was on duty, she complained about not being able to get time off, so her Owen arranged her hunt for Easter eggs in red. White and blue plastic eggs filled with valentines. Owen has fun with Teddy in that memory…but then he falls asleep again.
Oh, and about that Link’s confession: He realizes he missed the chance to date Joe when he still had feelings for him because he was too obsessed with Amelia (Katerina Scorsone) at the time. I was.
This episode’s patients of the week are Jara and River, two teens who tried to jump off the roof into a pool while tripping on LSD. Jarrah failed to clear the landing and suffered severe blunt force trauma to his chest. River, meanwhile, made it to the pool and escaped with minor injuries. At the hospital, however, a still stumbling river escapes the ambulance and jumps from the top of the parked ambulance onto the sidewalk below. And again, he escaped major injury – mostly because he landed virtually on top of Joe. River gets a concussion and a broken leg. Joe sprains his wrist.
Do you know who else is having a bad day? Levi (Jake Borrelli) yells at a nurse for being overworked. It’s not very Schmidt-like, and when Richard catches him snapping at yet another colleague, Richard tells him to take a break. .
Richard then goes to Joe’s Bar to try and get Helm (Jacey Elliott) to give up his bartending career and return to the hospital. However, Helm is doing well with the sling drink. , she has a job where people value her skills. (Hopefully Helm will eventually change her mind.)
So even if Richard can’t get the helm back, it will at least take some of the burden off Levi. He tells Levi that he knows the hospital failed Levi’s intern class, but Richard is determined not to lose Levi. There, Richard says he intends to make attendees reclaim the leeway left behind when the residency program closed.
As for Meredith, she spends most of the episode in a hotel room with Nick (Scott Speedman). She tells Nick how difficult it is to find a school that can support Zora, whose talent causes anxiety. Nick’s own slumber party is almost over. Back at Chez Gray, Zola tells Mer that she couldn’t sleep and couldn’t breathe after lights out, and Mer assures her that she will find a school with teachers who can help her. This seems like a storyline that would give Mer a great break for Season 19, right?
