news Eat, Drink, Shop: Former Pro Soccer Player Opens Fitness and Sports Training Facility in Coopersburg | Eat, Drink, Shop

COOPERSBURG, Pa. — Determined to lead a more active lifestyle in 2023? Coopersburg’s new fitness facility just might be the ticket.
perfect touch sportsoffers a variety of sports training and fitness programs and is nearing completion of its 2,400-square-foot venue at 112 Springfield Street near the Saucon Rail Trail.
Owner Matt Baker, a former professional soccer player, founded Perfect Touch nearly a decade ago, renting spaces throughout the Lehigh Valley for soccer training and other programs.
Perfect Touch Sports, which offers a range of sports training and fitness programs, will open a new 2,400-square-foot venue at 112 Springfield Street in Coopersburg in January.
Services include private, small group and team training in soccer and lacrosse, as well as SportFit, a cross-training program designed to improve speed, strength, agility and overall performance for athletes in all sports.
“I’m thrilled to continue helping people on a large scale,” said Baker. “We love what we do and what we do hasn’t really changed much, but this new facility provides us with a home base and an opportunity for the community to develop their fitness and skills. We provide another space.”
Coopersburg resident Baker purchased the former Pole Barn in July and has spent the last few months overhauling the structure with new concrete and grass floors, insulation, lighting and more.

He painted the business motto ‘hustle every day’ on one of the walls and plans to finish the lobby area with bathroom in the next few weeks. Equipment such as kettlebells, medicine balls and push sleds are also expected to arrive in time for the facility’s grand opening in January.
“Our goal is to help change lives through sport and fitness,” said Baker. “We’ve been blessed to do what we love for nearly a decade, and I can’t wait to see the impact it will have on us moving forward.”
Baker has been playing soccer since he was three years old and has been a member of several local traveling and premier teams, including Lehigh Valley United.

After playing Division 1 football at the University of Pittsburgh, he continued his professional career with USLPRO’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
He then joined other teams such as Cardosa Moriera in Brazil’s second division and the Philadelphia Union Reserve team in Major League Soccer, but changed course after a torn ACL and found his passion by developing the Perfect Touch Sport. I was forced to dig deeper.
Baker, along with his wife Brielle, also runs the three-year-old Refinery Fitness, a boutique fitness studio offering individual and small group training on Station Avenue in Coopersburg.
“Perfect Touch Sports has a staff of about a dozen coaches and we all love what we do,” said Baker. “Now we have the opportunity to do more of that. By having coaches here and continuing to rent space at other venues, we were able to run programs in multiple locations on the same night.”
